32 STEPS
-
If you use the ParaScope App you can design Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections for your drivers to complete.
First, check to see if your routes have Pre and Post-Trip inspections enabled. -
Once in the Common Tasks menu,
Click Subscription Routes (Beta). -
You can view and edit your routes in this menu. To view route details and edit the route, click the blue Edit button next to the route you want to check.
-
To use inspections, the route must have these Toggle Switches enabled for Pre-Trip, Post-trip, or both.
-
Be sure to click Save if you make a change to your route.
-
Once you've confirmed your routes have inspections enabled, with your mouse, hover over Vehicle Maintenance to view the Vehicle Maintenance menu.
-
Click Service Categories to view, edit or add a service category.
-
Verify that you have service categories to assign to inspections. These will appear as headers on the inspection page of the driver's ParaScope app.
We looked at how to add service categories in a previous tutorial. -
Navigate back to the Vehicle Maintenance menu, then click Inspections to add, view, and edit inspections.
-
This is your Inspection List, previous inspection points you've added appear here.
They can be filtered by Service Category.
Click the drop down menu, and select Interior to only see inspections that are categorized under Interior Service. -
Now we can see only inspections that are categorized as Interior inspections.
Click All in the drop down menu to go back to viewing all inspections. -
The Inspection List is organized alphabetically, and can be searched in the Global Search box.
There are columns indicating which inspections are on the Pre-Trip or Post-Trip, as well as if the inspection is critical. -
Inspections are able to edited with the blue Edit button, and deactivated by the Wrench icon.
For now, we'll add a new inspection by clicking the New Inspection button. -
This will prompt you to choose a Service Category to create the inspection under.
If you have filtered the Inspection List by service category, it will default to the service category you have filtered for.
Here we'll select Fluids from the menu. -
Click OK to create a new inspection under this category.
-
Click Description to add a name to this inspection. This will be seen by the driver.
-
You selected service category on the previous screen, so on this page it is not able to be changed.
Click the Pre-trip box to add this to the Pre-Trip inspection. -
Click the Post-trip box to add it to the Post-Trip inspection.
-
Check the Mark Critical box if you wish to suspend a route if this inspection is failed.
For this inspection, we will leave it unchecked, but for items like Engine Oil or Tire Pressure, it may be important to suspend the route if there is an issue. -
When you have verified that all the information on this page is correct, click Save.
This will add your new inspection to the list. -
Now the new inspection Check Antifreeze is added to the list.
Now we'll take a look at what the driver will see on the ParaScope app when they complete an inspection. -
In the ParaScope App, when a driver starts any inspection they will see this screen.
Notice the Service Category headers, with the new inspection we added under the Fluids category. -
Each inspection item has three options for the driver to select.
If you marked an inspection as Suspend if Critical in the Inspection List, a driver marking the item as Service Critical will not allow him to complete his route. -
A driver will check off on each inspection item, selecting the appropriate option from the list.
Click Service Critical if the inspection item needs to be fixed immediately. -
Click OK to mark an inspection item as operational.
-
Click Service Needed if the inspection item passes inspection, but may need service in the future.
-
When completed, the driver will click Submit to submit their inspection checklist.
In this case, Tires are marked as Service Critical. Since this item is marked Suspend if Critical in the inspection list, the driver will be logged out by ParaScope. -
If a critical inspection is failed, the driver will see this screen after clicking Submit.
They will not be able to log in again until the route and/or vehicle is changed. -
Back in Tripmaster, as a dispatcher you can pull inspection reports to view how each driver has completed their inspections.
Hover over Vehicle Maintenance. -
Click Inspection Report
This will bring you to a custom report that shows Service Category, Inspection Item and Type, and the option the driver chose in ParaScope, as well as date, vehicle, and driver. -
Here you can identify which vehicles need service, and which critical items caused your driver to be unable to complete their route.
-
That's it! You're done. You now know how to add inspections, complete them, and view the reports afterwards.
